DECREASE SCREEN TIME AND INCREASE ENERGY OUT
What’s the Session All About?
Session 4 introduces strategies to increase ENERGY OUT by increasing physical activity and reducing screen time. Screen time is time with TV and DVDs, video games, and recreational computer use (in other words, computer time for anything but school or work). of the energy balance equation. Participants will learn the importance of physical activity and will discuss ways to increase the amount of physical activity that they and their families get daily.
By the end of this lesson, the participants will be able to:
- Assess the amount of time family members spend in front of screens (TV, DVD, Computer, etc.)
- List three ways the family can limit screen time to no more than 2 hours per day.
- List three physical active things they can do instead of screen time.
We encourage you to bring your children ages 8 – 13.
